The game remained deadlocked until the 81st minute when substitute Mikel Merino, stepping in as a striker due to squad injuries, connected with a cross from 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri to break the tie. Just six minutes later, Merino found the net again, sealing the victory for the visitors.
